Please help!?

The gene for red flowers is dominant over the gene for yellow flowers in snapdragons. If a red flowering snapdragon was crossed with a yellow flowering snapdragon, what are the possible phenotypes that the offspring could have?

A) some red, some yellow

B) all red

C) all yellow

D) flowers with both red and yellow petals

Please help!?
E. You can't tell with the information given.

You didn't say that magic word. You can only predict what the second generation would produce if you know the geneotype of the first generation.

Even if you bother to assume that the gene for flower color is a single allele (also not information provided), In this case, nobody says that the red snapdragons breed true. So their genotype can not be known. It can either be all red (RR) or one red one yellow (Rr). So you can either have all red flowers, or a 50/50 red yellow mix.

Reply:its A, some red some yellow.

the red snapdragon could be red due to the alleles being Rr or RR, while the yellow will guaranteed be rr.

therefore, if the red was homozygous, you would get every offspring as red. however, if the red was heterozygous, you will get a mix of some red and some yellow, as the possible offspring combinations would be:

Rr (red) or rr (yellow)
